In September 2014 Georgios Kachrimanis, Adriaan van der Louw, Ledion-Leonidas Zhupali and Carlos Maquez, decided to form a trombone quartet.
The “Slide Resistance” trombone quartet was born.
Although they come from different cultures and countries (Greece, Spain and The Netherlands) their passion for music makes them able to exchange their musical ideas, and make the perfect combination for a new sound.
Their main goal is to make trombone music known to a broader audience. In order to achieve this, their repertoire includes different styles of music, from classical to jazz to contemporary.
After their first successful appearances the members of the quartet are more determined to improve and search for new venues to promote the music for trombone.
Since May of 2015 we had to add one more member in our quartet Hyerim Lee. There is one simple explanation for this decision. Our Adrian finished his studies in the Netherlands and he is continuing them in Austria. Of course he will join us from time to time for concerts and to be honest more often for drinking beer.
In the coming seasons they plan concerts in Greece, Spain and The Netherlands.
